Need 1

The onset of the COVID Pandemic presented the organization with some challenges.  Its reaction was to cancel the rehearsals and performances of the Community Municipal Band and the Community Jazz Band.  However, in being true to its mission and purpose as well as the commitment to the community, a series of Mini-MUNI concerts/ recitals were held during the summer of 2020.  Budgetarily, there was a reduction and, in some cases, elimination of source funding from sponsors, contributors, and at performance donations.  The board decided to eliminate therefore all stipend and paid positions from the budget.  These events complied with the restrictions and guidelines for interactions and exposure.  To continue to reach out to citizens, members started recording and posting these performances.  What was a trial attempt, has evolved into a goal of its own.

Need 2

The Municipal Band had its extensive library built over the years.  The Community Band and the Community Jazz Band were outreach programs of the University of Providence in Great Falls.  The University chose to refocus its efforts and entered a sequence of actions the redefined its relations with these organizations.  Their assets and music were separated from the school and have yet to be fully catalogued and inventoried.  This needs to be done.  Adding to the current library bringing it to over 2,000 compositions, arrangements, and jazz charts.

Need 3

Before the health crisis, there were video recordings of the organizations' performances that were completed for historical and archival reasons.  The pandemic pushed this avenue of contact to audiences to the forefront of consideration and outreach.  With that in mind and with a look toward the future contact with audiences, supporters and donors, a major upgrade to professional equipment and editing is required.  The improved quality would provide a marketable outcome to showcase the mission and purposes of the organizations.
